Seakayakcobber to paddle from home to Moldova!

There are so many sea kayaking expeditions going on it is difficult sometimes to keep track of who is doing what and where.

But here is one that jumps right off the screen at you! Jörgen, from seakayakcobber, is going to paddle from the lake, where he lives in the Netherlands, by river and sea all the way through the heart of Europe to Moldova (some 4,200km distant) passing through 11 counties on the way.

He is not just doing it because it's there, to be first or to be fastest etc.. He is doing it to help raise money so that children in Moldova who are born with congenital or genetic facial malformations can get surgery.

It's an absolutely brilliant expedition. He will need our help with sponsorship.

  1. Hello Douglas,

The trip I make is for many reasons. First of all because I like paddling. Second to ask attention for the project. Third....I can still paddle and make dreams come true.
Maybe next year I will not able to do it anymore.

So I just start paddling and see what this journey will bring.
There is a new world for me around the corner:
Moldova is off-the-beaten track, so it must be fun!

Do you have any idea how to translate Guinness in Russian?

  2. Cobber a fantastic trip could become sublime, if you can find some Гиннесс. Bottles and cans are brewed and distributed in Russia by Хайнекен (or Heineken as you would know them!) If you are lucky enough to find draught Guinness, it will have been brewed in Ireland.

    :o)

  3. There is an Irish pub in the Capital: Chisinau.
So that will be a good motivator to fullfill the trip and relax with a pint.

Wodka is not my thing...but it's not polite to refuse, as I read in the Books.
But "I can manage", like Mr. jones said.
