What a difference a day makes.

Yesterday we enjoyed sun and light winds rounding a major headland. Today when the clouds cleared and the sun came out, it brought a fresh SE wind. It funneled into the mouth of Loch Fyne in the Firth of Clyde. We paddled out into the middle of the loch where the wind and waves were at their best.

Then we turned downwind for a 6.5km blast to Tarbert with its ice cream parlour and the pub.

All in all, a pretty good weekend

  1. I don't know why Douglas, but your blog never lets me post messages ... let's see if it works this time!

You have mentioned poor health more than once recently, very glad to see that you are now fit and well enough to be out on the water again.

    Best wishes,

  2. Great to see you got out to paddle. A local pond thawed open today. Spring is pushing out winter!

  3. Hello Mark several people have emailed me about that, I am trying to find the cause of the problem. I wonder if other Bloggers are having the same difficulty?

Thanks for the good wishes, I caught a really nasty chest infection in the Children's Hospital in Lahore and since then I seem to have been prone to recurrences. It kept me off the water for 6 months last year, but I am not complaining it could be worse and it is an occupational hazard!

Thanks Wendy, glad to hear spring is on the way! Because we have a maritime climate, we are only sure Spring has finally arrived once Autumn is well on the way!!
