Imagine you are at the edge of the sea on a day when it is difficult to say where the land ends and the sea begins and where the sea ends and the sky begins. Sea kayaking lets you explore these and your own boundaries and broadens your horizons. Sea kayaking is the new mountaineering.

Home to roost.
I like staying on the water till well after sunset. This April evening was so calm that the only movement was that of a colony of common gulls returning to their noisy roosts on Murray's Isles. I paddled back to the distant Galloway shore and the gulls' calls grew ever more distant as I left their world and returned to mine.

There is something very special about this time of day. It is probably something the average person and those that live inland never get to see. The light around our coast in the couple of hours after the sun hits the horizon is awesome. I love to be out at this time too. Another great picture. I'm longing for those summer sunsets of June.
