Imagine you are at the edge of the sea on a day when it is difficult to say where the land ends and the sea begins and where the sea ends and the sky begins. Sea kayaking lets you explore these and your own boundaries and broadens your horizons. Sea kayaking is the new mountaineering.

Thirsty work off the Heads of Ayr.
We passed the silent but grim, grey walls of Greenan castle.
It seemed brighter weather was further west.
This seal had been following Tony and was quite surprised when I sneaked up on him.
It was not long before we were below the steep slopes of the Heads of Ayr...
...but already David was beginning to wonder if any oasis of refreshment might be found to be open in this barren and inhospitable coastline, on a day when almost the whole of Scotland was in deep slumber.
